Arunachal Pradesh New Chief Minister : Pema Khandu

Pema Khandu took charge as the new Chief Minister (CM) of Arunachal Pradesh on 17 July 2016. He is the 9th Chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He is the leader of Indian National Congress Party. He is the son of the late chief minister Dorjee Khandu. Pema Khandu was born in the Gyangkar village, Tawang District on 21 August 1979. He is 36 Years Old. Pema Khandu is a graduate from Delhi University.

Mr. Khaliko Pul, who was former Chief minister of arunachal Pradesh, returned to the Congress fold along with other dissident MLAs and supported Pema Khandu on 17 July 2016.

Pema Khandu was elected from Mukto constituency in the 2014 Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. in 2014 Pema Khandu served as Minister of Tourism and Rural Works in the state government. in 2016 He served as Minister of Education and parliamentary affairs in Khaliko Pul government.
