Duty exemption schemes enable duty free import of inputs required for export production.

Duty exemption schemes consist of:

  1. Duty-Free ImportAuthorisation (DFIA)
  2. The duty remission scheme enables post export replenishment/remission of duty on inputs used in export products.

Duty remission schemes consist of:

  1. Duty Entitlement Passbook (DEPB)
  2. Duty Drawback (DBK) or DFRC (Duty Free Replacement Certificate)

An Advance Licence is issued under the duty exemption.

Under duty remission scheme:

  1. DFRC permits duty-free replenishment of inputs used in the export products.
