The scheme “Hamari Dharohar” - A scheme to Preserve Rich Heritage of Minority Communities of India under the Overall Concept of Indian Culture is to give the equal rights and opportunities to all minority communities, to assist the rich heritage and culture of Minorities and supporting calligraphy and related crafts.

The the scheme is initiated because there is a general lack of information among people about the rich cultural heritage of minority communities of India, especially in a case of Parsis, Christians, Buddhists etc. Also to strongly maintain and build up the Indian culture tradition, rich heritage of minority communities develops better understanding among masses and strengthens tolerance and social knitting. Also the schemes comes under this scheme namely are Jiyo Parsi , Seekho Aur Kamao

It aims to to preserve rich culture and heritage of minority communities of India.

Objective

The scheme aims to achieve the following goals:

  • To preserve rich heritage of minorities under overall concept of Indian Culture.
  • Curating iconic exhibitions.
  • Preservation of literature/ documents, general information etc.
  • To Support and empower the calligraphy etc.
  • Research and Development.

Eligibility

  1. The candidate/ student should belong to minority community and passed Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks from a recognized institutionin/ college the relevant field in which he/she wants to avail the Fellowship to meet the above mentioned objectives.
  2. The candidate/ student should have secured admission in a University/Institution for a regular M. Phil/ Ph.D.
  3. The age limit of the candidates/students should not be more than 35 years.
  4. 33% seats are reserved for minority girls/women candidates/students per year.

Benefits

The benefits of the scheme are as below.

  1. The rates for Senior Research Fellow as per University Grants Commission will be applicable. The Fellowship will be awarded for three years. Fellowship for 1st and 2nd year will be @ Rs. 25,000/- p.m. and for the 3rd year @ Rs. 28,000/- p.m. depending on the progress of research work.

  2. The Fellowship would be the admissible maximum for 3 years. If the research is not completed within 3 years, it may be extended by maximum one year more @ Rs. 28,000/- p.m. with the approval of competent authority on the merit of the case and progress of Research Work.

  4. The funds will be transferred on the half-yearly basis (Fellowship for 6 months in one go) in the bank account of the student directly by the Ministry through e-transfer. First, fund of the first year would be transferred to the bank account after 6 months of securing admission in Ph.D. Subsequent funds would be transferred after every 6 months accordingly.
