Description

This scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The government of India deposits an amount of Rs 3000/- in the bank of the girl child as in the name of the girl. The amount will be paid to the girl child when she becomes 18 years old and completes the 10th class standard.

Objective

The prime goal of this scheme is to encourage the girl child to pursue higher studies after they have completed 10th Standard.

Eligibility

The following conditions should be fulfilled to avail the benefits under this scheme

  1. The government of India deposits an amount of Rs 3000/- in the bank of the girl child as in the name of the girl.
  2. Whenever the girl child becomes 18 years old and finishes standard 10th, the matured amount will be paid to her.
  3. The female students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, who have got admitted in the 9th standard and belong to Government aided schools are eligible.
  4. Also, female students belonging to all categories and studying in standard 8th of Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalaya, who are unmarried can avail the benefits under this scheme.
